Miscellany Monday Meets Project 52

Disclaimer: Don’t read any further if you’re counting carbs or watching calories.

I obviously don’t believe in either of those activities since I’m overly pleased with my Pioneer Woman Chicken and Dumplings that capped off our crazy week 52.12.

It was cold and rainy all weekend, but inside the chocolate factory of Willy Wonka all was pure imagination.  Our annual middle school spring musical was a great success, though I must say I’m pretty partial to the performance of two little squirrels, myself.

But afternoon rehearsals make for long days and tired kids (and mommies).  So today, instead of trying to get my own routine back at Jazzercise, I opted for home and the couch and an afternoon mug of hazelnut coffee to ward off the late March chill.  It turned cold Friday and Joshua fussed when I turned the heat back on.  But poor Amelia, her lips were blue!

We think we (and by we I mean our wonderful family doc) have figured out the problem with Amelia’s thumb.  Looks like “trigger thumb” which is actually a congenital defect that may require surgery.  Normally, I’d be freaking out by now, but in the midst of all that’s happened in our lives lately and in comparison to the tragedies of Japan, it seems a small, fixable nuisance.  I’m sure I’ll be singing a different song if surgery actually becomes a reality, but for now I’m reveling in blessed assurance that Jesus is holding that sweet little hand, bent thumb and all.

See how her left thumb is bent?  It stays like that all the time, but it doesn’t hinder her–especially when food is anywhere near.

Link up at lowercase letters and write random.

Happy Monday!
