Still Waters wins Selah Book of the Year!
I’ll be making some stops in the Lowcountry this summer, as well as signing around the North Georgia area. I love talking books and the beach, so if you have a book club drop me a line. If it’s driving distance, I might visit, but if not, there’s the wonder of modern technology that lets us chat! You can find complete lists of events regularly updated over at my author page on Facebook, Lindsey P. Brackett.
Reading superhero, Carrie Booth Schmidt said, “Lindsey Brackett’s debut novel Still Waters is poignant, heartwarming, and romantic!”
Fellow blogger, Heather Iseminger over at Petals of Joy said, “Still Waters invites you to sink into the serenity of Edisto Beach…This stunning debut from author Lindsey Brackett promises rich stories to treasure for years to come.”
You can also find me writing here on my site, sometimes over at Splickety Publishing where I spent a couple years as Editor of Web Content, bi-monthly for The Northeast Georgian, weekly for The Elberton Star, and in various other print and online publications like Southern Writers Magazine.
Most afternoons I’m procrastinating (i.e. reading), hard at work on my back porch writing a new novel, or mentoring fellow authors through their first (or a book proposal or blog set-up).
and just for fun here are some links to a few of my pieces…
“For Better or Worse” a flash fiction piece that won the first contest I ever entered.
“The Blue Dresser” more flash fiction on Splickety.
“Drifting to Africa” a flash fiction piece inspired by my childhood summers on Edisto Beach.
“Like a Good Neighbor” placed third in Southern Writers Magazine short story contest.
“Rotating Chores” appeared in the Family Stages section of Thriving Family, February 2015.
